Twillingate-Day 8-June 8, 2021

This will be a very short blog today I fear. I had a little bit of running around to do today, for all the good it did me lol

BUT I have groceries!

I started today out right with a drive to the lighthouse. No camera, no notebook, just me and the sea. It gave me time to reflect and appreciate what has been put before me. This is truly an opportunity of a lifetime and I intend to live every minute of it.

I did stop for a photo or two AFTER lol

So I have a mascot, there has been this crow in and around the chimney of the building directly across from me, he’s been there every day since I got here. I think I will adopt him and name him Moe…

So, some of you may have noticed there is a NEW tab at the top of the page called Twillingate. Not very original I know, but it is what it is. I’ll come up with some better descriptor latter. BUT what it is is a gallery if photos I feel are nearing what I want to produce in my time here. Photos of places with grace and dignity, whose voices have faded and just yearn to be heard again…. I’ve taken over 2000 photos since my arrival, so few make the cut.

I am looking for access, or information on any old houses, churches, warehouse, shops, anything that has seen little activity, but has a history, I treat these places with the greatest of respect and I want to tell the stories of what they once were through photos of what they are today. If you know of any place of interest, and who I can talk to about gaining access, I would very much appreciate it!

The day ended well though folks, a pretty nice sunset to be had here tonight…

Thats about it for today folks, I’m hot and I’m tired lol… and I miss my dog,,,, going to go and cry myself to sleep…. not really, but close! lol

I do hope you are enjoying these blogs, if there is anything else you would like to see here please let me know!

Thanks for joining me on this journey!

Don’t forget, if you love the work, think about purchasing a piece or sponsoring a kilometer. I have lots of klicks to cover this summer, and your support was never more appreciated.
